InnoTrans Berlin showcases innovations in railway and night train technology
The InnoTrans exhibition in Berlin, Europe’s largest railway trade fair, is preparing for its 30th anniversary in 2026. The event is expected to host approximately 3,000 exhibitors across 42 halls, showcasing advancements in railway technology, infrastructure, public transport, and tunnel construction.
A significant focus of recent industry developments highlighted at the event is the revitalization of night train travel. Companies are introducing concepts centered on comfort, privacy, and space efficiency. Tricon is presenting the ALISA model, an innovative and lightweight sleeper cabin concept developed with partners including the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action and the DLR German Aerospace Center.
Other innovators include the Berlin-based startup Nox Mobility, which is showcasing private one- or two-person cabin prototypes, and Luna Rail, an interior design startup. Luna Rail is demonstrating its ‘Hotel Pod’ and ‘Seat Pod’ concepts, which feature multi-level seating and sleeping areas designed to maximize passenger space and privacy.
