Innovation and robotics take center stage in recent industry developments
Industry leaders and innovators recently convened to discuss the role of regulatory sandboxes and real-world laboratories in accelerating sustainable transformation. At a CEOs FOR FUTURE event, participants emphasized that these testing environments are essential for overcoming regulatory and infrastructural hurdles, allowing new technologies and business models to be tested under real conditions.
Speakers highlighted the need for rapid implementation of innovative solutions, investment in startups, and the creation of reliable frameworks and funding systems. Examples of such innovation hubs include the EUREF Campus in Berlin and Düsseldorf, as well as the Zukunftsanker in Vienna, which support transitions in energy, mobility, and sustainability.
In a separate technological development, the Infineon Startup Challenge 2026 concluded with a focus on robotics and Physical AI. The winners included Italy’s Adaptronics, which developed electroadhesive gripping technology for robotics; South Korea’s COSMOKE, which created a flexible magnetic robotic skin for tactile perception; and Germany’s TECHiFAB, which presented AI-driven motor control for robotic actuators.
