Innovation and technology developments in Lithuania
Professor Björn Jacobsen from Stralsund University of Applied Sciences visited Panevėžys College to deliver a lecture series on innovation management. The sessions focused on the creation, implementation, and management of innovations for international business and logistics students. During the visit, the professor also met with faculty representatives and visited local companies, including Geld Baltic, Roquette Amilina, and Supergarden, to observe regional innovation practices.
In separate technological developments, researcher Dr. Marius Urbonavičius from the Lithuanian Energy Institute’s Hydrogen Energy Technology Center is working on integrating hydrogen technologies with advanced materials and circular economy principles. His research aims to synthesize materials and catalysts to make hydrogen infrastructure more efficient and cost-effective. Urbonavičius noted that while laboratory solutions exist, transitioning 'deeptech' from the lab to the market requires greater business engagement and clearer state support to compete with natural gas.
