Innovation District in Kragujevac to open first building in September
The first building of the Innovation District in Kragujevac, Serbia, is scheduled to open in mid-September. The complex is designed to serve as a hub for information, innovative, creative, and digital industries in Southeast Europe.
Mihailo Jovanović, Director of the Office for IT and eGovernment, announced that pre-lease agreements have been signed with three major international companies: Oracle, Honeywell, and Palo Alto. Additionally, the National Information Security Center will be located within the facility, providing services to public administration and private enterprises.
The state has invested over 20 million euros in the construction and equipment of this first building. The broader project, which spans 4.5 hectares with approximately 85,000 square meters of total area, represents a total investment of around 168 million euros. Construction of the second building is expected to conclude early next year, with work on the central hub of the district set to begin next month.
