Innovation hackathons launched in Paraná, Brazil
Regional innovation marathons are taking place in the state of Paraná, Brazil, focusing on technology and problem-solving.
In Pato Branco, the Afya Centro Universitário is hosting the Hackathon Instituto Afya 2026. The event involves 75 students from nine different academic disciplines, including Medicine, Nursing, and Systems Analysis. Participants are tasked with developing solutions for real-world challenges presented by local health institutions, such as the Consórcio Intermunicipal de Saúde (CONIMS) and various regional hospitals. The process includes ideation, prototyping, and validation with potential users.
Simultaneously, the Hackyara initiative was launched in Santa Helena. Organized by a coalition including the Federal Technological University of Paraná (UTFPR), Sebrae, and local commercial associations, this marathon is scheduled for September 4–6. The goal is to foster collaboration between students, professionals, and entrepreneurs to drive local and regional development through creative technological solutions.
