Innovation Research Institute to launch Compass business diagnostic tool

Innovation Research Institute Co., Ltd. has announced the launch of ‘Compass’, a diagnostic service designed to analyze why new business ventures stall. Starting October 1, 2026, the service will identify discrepancies in perspectives between management, project leaders, and operational staff.

By evaluating six key areas—customer demand, profitability, execution structure, management involvement, internal cooperation, and exit criteria—Compass aims to clarify specific issues preventing progress. The service moves beyond simple scoring to provide actionable steps, such as identifying whether a project needs more customer interviews or better resource allocation.

Research conducted by the institute involving 888 professionals suggests that objective business evaluations significantly improve the ability of staff to report early signs of failure. While only 4.3% of those using objective evaluations failed to report concerns, 23.3% of those without such systems failed to communicate potential issues.
