The design utilizes a split-level concept that follows the slope, creating a continuous internal landscape of interconnected platforms rather than traditional floors and corridors. The structure features a visible raw concrete interior to reduce material use and a renewable wooden exterior cladding. Its roof is fully equipped with a photovoltaic system designed to produce significant energy.

In the Pfälzerwald region of Germany, dury et hambsch architektur completed a wooden residence designed to minimize land sealing. To manage heavy rainfall and preserve the ground's ability to absorb water, the house rests on a strip foundation and a support structure. The building serves as both a residence and an atelier, featuring a large central living and working space designed with an emphasis on simplicity and regional craftsmanship.
