Innovative residential projects emerge in Orly and Toulouse

In France, new residential projects are introducing innovative architectural and social models. In Orly, the ABF-LAB agency has designed a social housing building featuring approximately 1,000 square meters of raw cork cladding, a first for the country. To manage the technical complexities of the curved facades and custom-machined panels, the project utilized advanced Building Information Modeling (BIM) for pre-execution and parametric modeling.

In Toulouse, a new inclusive housing project called Hibiscus is under construction. This 53-unit residence is designed as a bilingual shared living space where sixteen families with deaf members will live alongside hearing residents who commit to learning sign language. Supported by the Fondation de France, the project includes social rental units and affordable homeownership options through the 'bail réel solidaire' model, with completion expected in the first half of 2027.
