Innsbruck Bergisel to host Airdrenaline Big Air event
The Big Air freestyle skiing and snowboarding discipline is returning to the Innsbruck Bergisel on November 27 and 28. The event, named ‘Airdrenaline’, will serve as a FIS World Cup and aims to revive the legacy of the former ‘Air & Style’ competition.
The project has a total budget of 3.7 million euros. Funding is split between the City of Innsbruck, the State of Tyrol, and Innsbruck Tourism, who will each contribute approximately one million euros, while the remainder is covered by the global concert promoter Live Nation.
The event expects 160 athletes and allows for 10,000 visitors per day. In addition to the FIS World Cup competitions, the program will include ‘Style Sessions’, which offer selected athletes more creative freedom during their jumps. Live Nation will also manage a music program featuring prominent German rap artists.
