Innsbruck hosts National Day celebrations and open house events

Innsbruck is marking the Austrian National Day with a variety of public events, including an airport festival and an open house at the Landhaus.

The airport festival features aircraft and helicopter exhibitions, including displays from the Austrian Armed Forces such as a Black Hawk, an AW169 ‘Lion’, and Eurofighters. A C-130 Hercules is scheduled to fly over the grounds, and the Flying Bulls are expected to attend. The event also includes demonstrations of firefighting capabilities by helicopters and various gliding and model flight displays.

Simultaneously, the Landhaus in Innsbruck is hosting an open house, allowing the public to gain insights into regional politics and administration. These celebrations follow the traditional ‘Großer Zapfenstreich’ ceremony held on Sunday evening at Landhausplatz, which featured military music and speeches regarding the importance of defending democracy.
