Inntalautobahn accident caused by cat attack on driver

A 57-year-old driver caused a major car accident on the A12 Inntalautobahn in Radfeld, Tyrol, after being attacked by his pet cat. The incident occurred around 00:30 while the man was traveling toward Germany.

According to police, the cat was inside a transport box and attached to a leash. When the driver heard unusual noises from the animal, he unclipped the leash to check on it. The cat then bit and scratched him, causing him to lose control of the vehicle. The car spun and ended up heavily damaged on an embankment.

The driver managed to escape the wreckage and reported no injuries. However, the cat escaped the vehicle and fled into the darkness. Despite a search operation involving the fire department, police, and a thermal imaging drone, the animal was not found.
