Inosport develops Alex7run mechatronic sports training system

Engineers from the Kaunas-based company Inosport, in collaboration with scientists from Kaunas University of Technology, athletes, and coaches, have developed the Alex7run system. This mechatronic system uses integrated electric drives and sensors to provide precise control over resistance loads or to assist athletes in increasing speed.

The system measures speed, force, and distance 200 times per second, allowing for objective data collection that helps coaches optimize training for power, maximum speed, and speed endurance. Advanced algorithms can also identify fatigue to help reduce injury risks. The device, named in memory of Professor and athletics coach Aleksas Stanislausaitis, weighs just over ten kilograms.

Beyond sprinting, the technology is applicable to various sports, such as helping footballers with initial acceleration or basketball players with rapid changes of direction. Additionally, a version called Alex7rehab is designed for rehabilitation, using objective data to help specialists adjust the complexity of physical therapy exercises.
