Inowrocław City Council session sees guard intervention and mayoral pay raise
A session of the Inowrocław City Council was marked by tension and the intervention of the municipal guard. The disruption began when an exchange of words occurred between Council Chairwoman Ewa Podogrodzka and community activist Krzysztof Pietrzak, a representative of the Association ‘No to Incinerators in Inowrocław’. Following several warnings regarding the disruption of proceedings, the Chairwoman exercised her authority under the city statute to have Pietrzak removed from the hall by municipal guards.
Following the incident, the council engaged in a lengthy debate regarding a resolution to increase the salary of Inowrocław Mayor Arkadiusz Fajok. The resolution was ultimately passed, raising his monthly gross salary by over 1,500 PLN to a total of slightly more than 20,000 PLN.
