Inowrocław officials protest transport exclusion in Warsaw

More than 200 residents and local officials from Inowrocław and its surrounding county traveled to Warsaw to protest transport exclusion. The group, which includes the Mayor of Inowrocław, Arkadiusz Fajok, and various local councilors, planned to demonstrate in front of the Prime Minister’s Chancellery and the Sejm.

The protesters are demanding better connections to the national high-speed road network. Specifically, they are protesting the government's decision to abandon the construction of the Via Pomerania road on the section linking Inowrocław with Bydgoszcz. Organizers have emphasized that the movement is non-political and aimed at securing the region's economic development.

In response, Kujawsko-Pomorskie Voivode Michał Sztybel noted that the region has received nearly 20 million PLN in government funding for transport between 2024 and 2026. He also highlighted ongoing projects, such as the S10 expressway and the Brzozy bypass, which are intended to improve travel times between Inowrocław and Bydgoszcz.
