InPlay Oil Corp boosts production with $54 M acquisition and lifts earnings outlook

InPlay Oil Corp (TSX:IPO) announced a definitive agreement to acquire a private oil and gas producer for cash consideration of $54.25 million. The deal adds about 1,400 barrels of oil equivalent per day, raising the company's total output to over 20,100 boe/d, with light oil and NGLs comprising roughly 62‑63% of production. The acquired assets are expected to generate strong cash flow, supporting a pro‑forma free adjusted funds flow of $79‑89 million for 2026 and a dividend of $0.09 per share per month.

Analyst Noble Financial subsequently raised its earnings forecasts for InPlay Oil, lifting the Q2 2026 EPS estimate to $0.34 and the full‑year 2026 EPS outlook to $0.50, well above the consensus of $0.21. Zacks Research meanwhile downgraded the stock to a "strong sell" rating. The combined acquisition and upgraded earnings guidance signal a more optimistic near‑term outlook for the company and its shareholders.
