INPS reports childcare subsidies boost female employment in Italy

New data from INPS indicates that the 'bonus nido' (childcare subsidy) has significantly impacted female employment in Italy. Mothers who receive the subsidy see a 17% increase in the probability of working in the year following their child's birth. Additionally, mothers in sectors where remote work is more prevalent earn between 1,100 and 1,300 euros more than those unable to work remotely.

To support families, INPS has introduced a new geolocation feature within its Family and Parenting Portal. This tool allows parents to use a map to identify local childcare facilities that are officially partnered with the subsidy program. The data for this 'Agenda Asili Nido' will be managed by local authorities in collaboration with INPS to ensure information remains accurate and updated for the upcoming school years.
