INS Mysore arrives in Malaysia for Samudra Laksamana naval exercise
The Indian Navy warship INS Mysore has arrived at Lumut, Malaysia, to participate in the fourth edition of the bilateral naval exercise, Samudra Laksamana. The drills are conducted alongside the Royal Malaysian Navy.
The exercise includes professional engagements both in harbor and at sea, such as cross-deck visits, operational interactions, and sporting activities. These maneuvers are intended to enhance interoperability, exchange professional experiences, and strengthen operational synergy between the two maritime forces.
This deployment aligns with India’s MAHASAGAR vision and the ASEAN–India Year of Maritime Cooperation 2026. The visit follows recent bilateral defense discussions, including the 12th India-Malaysia Sub-Committee Meeting held in July, and aims to bolster security across critical sea lanes.
