Sony Pictures sees major box office success with Spider-Man and Insidious

Sony Pictures is seeing significant box office success with two major releases. ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ continues to dominate, earning $39 million in its fourth weekend. The film has reached a global total of approximately $2.22 billion, making it one of the highest-grossing films in history and placing it among an exclusive group of titles like ‘Avatar’ and ‘Avengers: Endgame’. In North America, it has accumulated roughly $855 million.

Simultaneously, the horror franchise ‘Insidious’ has returned with ‘Insidious: Out of the Further’. Despite receiving mixed reviews and a C+ CinemaScore, the film has performed strongly commercially. It earned an estimated $25.3 million domestically and $35 million internationally, totaling a global opening of approximately $60.3 million. With a reported budget of around $18 million, the film is expected to be highly profitable for Sony and Blumhouse Productions.
