Insight Health Systems to acquire West Suburban and Weiss Memorial hospitals

West Suburban Medical Center and Weiss Memorial Hospital are set to be sold to Insight Health Systems, resolving a protracted legal dispute between business partners. Under the settlement, landlord Rathnakar Reddy Patlola will purchase the stake held by Resilience Healthcare CEO Manoj Prasad, after which Insight Health Systems will acquire the hospitals from Patlola.

The legal battle followed the closure of West Suburban Medical Center in March and Weiss Memorial Hospital in August 2025. Weiss Memorial had also recently lost its state hospital license. While the settlement ends the litigation, the future of the facilities remains uncertain. Atif Bawahab, an executive at Insight Health Systems, stated that the company will assess both locations to “determine the appropriate path forward,” noting that the process will be “long” and “phased.”

Bawahab highlighted significant challenges ahead, including the need to restore licenses and certifications, rebuild staffing and systems, and meet regulatory requirements. Specific financial terms of the sale were not disclosed.
