Insilico Medicine unveils AI Benchmark Service for Drug Discovery

Insilico Medicine announced the launch of the Drug Discovery and Development (DDD) Benchmark as a Service, a standardized evaluation platform for frontier AI models in drug discovery. The service comprises two suites: Drug Discovery Foundations, with more than 300 tasks drawn from proprietary out‑of‑distribution test sets and decontaminated public data, and Drug Candidate Essentials, which assesses end‑to‑end decision‑making from hit identification to preclinical candidate nomination. Models can be evaluated via a chat‑completion API, receive scores against expert reference baselines, and optionally appear on a public leaderboard.

The company says its own AI work has produced 31 preclinical candidates, secured over 10 investigational new drug clearances, and shortened the typical 2½‑4‑year timeline to roughly 12‑18 months. Its lead program, Rentosertib (ISM001‑055), is in Phase III trials for idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. Insilico, listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange under ticker 3696, made the service available to any organization developing AI for drug discovery; pricing and tier details were not disclosed.
