Insolvent German packaging firms Forewood and Durotherm acquired
Sensoplast Packmitteltechnik GmbH announced the purchase of assets from the insolvent biobased packaging specialist Forewood, including its technology, intellectual property and brand rights, but not the entire company. Forewood, based in Filderstadt, had filed for insolvency in early June and was known for wood‑fiber packaging such as the "Rezemo" coffee capsules.
Swissplast Group reported the acquisition of the core assets and operations of the insolvent Durotherm Kunststoffverarbeitung GmbH. The deal secures the German production sites in Haiterbach and Lindlar, preserves existing customer relationships and maintains the majority of jobs. Swissplast plans to integrate the sites quickly, aiming to stabilise the organisation, exploit synergies and restore supply reliability.
Both transactions aim to sustain employment and continuity in Germany’s packaging sector following the insolvency of the target companies.
