Insomniac Games confirms Marvel’s Wolverine has gone gold

Insomniac Games has announced that Marvel’s Wolverine has officially gone ‘gold’, signifying that the main version of the game is complete and ready for distribution. The title is scheduled to launch on PlayStation 5 on September 15.

Game Director Mike Daly confirmed in an interview that the story takes place within the same universe as the Marvel’s Spider-Man series, occurring a few years after the events of Spider-Man 2. While the protagonist will not encounter Spider-Man, the game will explore the history of mutants in a world where their existence remains largely unknown to the public.

The narrative features Wolverine alongside characters such as Jean Grey, Mystique, and Sabretooth, while facing antagonists including Bolivar Trask, Lady Deathstrike, and Omega Red. Players will also be able to unlock and equip cosmetic items, such as golden claws.
