Insomniac Games has released Marvel's Wolverine, a title that departs from the open-world structure of their Spider-Man series in favor of a linear, narrative-driven action adventure. The game focuses on cinematic combat and storytelling rather than expansive side activities.

The game introduces significant changes to the character's established lore. Unlike previous comic or film adaptations, this version of Logan lacks ties to the Weapon X program or the figure Romulus. Instead, the narrative reveals that Wolverine acquired his adamantium skeleton through the character Apocalypse, who recruited him as the Horseman of Death during the 19th century.
