Marvel's Wolverine update adds toggles for sensory cues

Insomniac Games has released update 1.001.006 for Marvel's Wolverine on PlayStation 5, introducing new toggles to disable specific sensory guidance features. This move follows community feedback regarding the game being too “hand-holdy” due to intrusive visual and audio cues.

Players can now independently turn off scent trails for whisky bottles, audio clues for material crates, and Nightmare Door Roots. However, the developer noted that “story-critical Senses will still appear in the world” to ensure players can progress through the main narrative.

The hotfix also addresses several technical issues, including crashes identified through player reports and logs. Specific bug fixes include a problem where players could become stuck while sliding down a tree during the “The One That Got Away” mission, misaligned claws in Photo Mode, objects turning white after extended play sessions, and a UV mapping error affecting a bathroom sign in the casino.
