Insomniac Games has released update 1.002.001 for Marvel’s Wolverine on PlayStation 5, introducing a toggle for story-related scent trails. This change follows significant community feedback from players who felt the permanent visual scent trails were too intrusive and reduced the sense of exploration.

Players can now use the R3 button on their controller to act as a ‘Hint’ toggle, allowing them to turn the scent trails on or off as needed. The update also provides increased control over the visibility of other elements, such as audio cues and Nightmare Roots. In addition to these gameplay adjustments, the patch addresses various community-reported bugs and stability issues to improve the overall gaming experience.

Separately, Sony announced Quick Spectral Super Resolution (QSSR), a new AI-driven performance tier for upscaling on PS5. Developed through a collaboration with AMD, QSSR aims to improve image detail and stability on the standard PlayStation 5 hardware.
