Marvel's Wolverine receives update and successful PS5 emulation test
Insomniac Games has released update 1.001.006 for Marvel’s Wolverine on PlayStation 5, addressing widespread player criticism regarding intrusive gameplay mechanics. The patch introduces toggles that allow players to disable specific sensory indicators, including scent trails for whisky bottles, audio cues for material crates, and visual markers for Nightmare Doors. While these options provide more freedom for exploration, sensory cues essential to the main story progression remain active.
Separately, the experimental and open-source PlayStation 5 emulator, KytyPS5, has successfully managed to boot Marvel’s Wolverine on PC. The demonstration showed the game reaching its main menu, though performance was extremely low, running at approximately 2 frames per second even on high-end hardware featuring an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 and an AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D. This technical milestone is considered a preliminary step in the emulation process and does not constitute a playable PC version.
