Insomniac's Marvel's Wolverine game set for release, no Spider-Man crossover

Insomniac Games showcased new gameplay for Marvel's Wolverine at the State of Play event. Creative director Marcus Smith confirmed that Spider‑Man will not appear in the title, despite both games sharing the studio's Marvel 1048 universe.

The game focuses on Wolverine teaming up with Jean Grey and even an uneasy alliance with Sabretooth against a common enemy. Players will control only Wolverine throughout the single‑player adventure; no side‑quests let you play as other characters.

Sony is positioning Marvel's Wolverine as a PlayStation exclusive, and industry observers consider a PC release unlikely at launch. The story takes Wolverine across global locations such as Canada, Japan and the fictional island of Madripoor, but the title will remain a console‑first title for now.
