InspeCity raises $10.5M to fund in-orbit satellite servicing missions

Indian space startup InspeCity has raised approximately $10.5 million (₹100 crore) in a pre-Series A funding round. The investment was co-led by Speciale Invest and Ashish Kacholia, with participation from Antler India, Antler Elevate, Shastra VC, and Manish Gandhi.

Founded in 2022, the Thane-based company specializes in in-space servicing, life extension, and deorbiting technologies. The capital will be used to fund four planned in-orbit missions over the next 12 to 18 months. These missions aim to validate the company’s integrated architecture, which includes propulsion, sensing, autonomous proximity operations, robotic arms, and docking infrastructure.

InspeCity’s technology stack includes GITA for propulsion, CHAKSU for sensing, and RAMA for robotic manipulation. The company has already completed functional and environmental testing for its propulsion system, receiving clearances from ISRO labs. CEO Arindrajit Chowdhury stated the upcoming phase focuses on transitioning from individual technology proofs to qualifying an integrated architecture in space for commercial customers.
