INSS mobile river units to serve seven Amazonas municipalities

The Brazilian National Social Security Institute (INSS) is deploying mobile river units, known as PREVBarcos, to provide social security and assistance services to seven municipalities in the Amazonas region between August and September.

The mobile units will serve Itapiranga, São Sebastião do Uatumã, Urucará, Alvarães, Uarini, Jutaí, and Humaitá. These services include medical expertise and social evaluations, aimed specifically at populations in hard-to-reach areas, such as riverine, indigenous, and quilombola communities.

The schedule includes the PREVBarco Manaós visiting Itapiranga from August 10 to 18 and São Sebastião do Uatumã from August 19 to 28, before arriving in Urucará on August 31. The PREVBarco Vovô Alarico will serve Alvarães, Uarini, and Jutaí, while the PREVBarco Vovó Jandira will operate in Humaitá from August 24 to September 9.
