Insta360 launches Luna Pro gimbal camera and announces mirrorless future

Insta360 has expanded its product lineup with the launch of the Luna Pro, a handheld gimbal camera designed to compete with DJI’s Osmo Pocket series. The Luna Pro features a 1-inch Sony sensor and a Leica Summicron F1.8 lens, offering up to 14 stops of dynamic range and 8K video capabilities. A key differentiator is its ability to record 4K resolution in a 9:16 vertical format, specifically targeting social media creators.

The device includes a detachable 2-inch OLED touchscreen that functions as a remote controller with a 20-meter range and an integrated wireless microphone. It also features three-axis mechanical stabilization, AI-driven subject tracking, and a 1,550mAh battery providing up to four hours of use with fast charging.

Additionally, Insta360 announced the development of two interchangeable lens mirrorless cameras, with a prototype expected to debut at CP+ 2027. The company also released the Insta360 X6, a flagship 360-degree camera featuring dual 1.1-inch Sony sensors, 8K/50fps video, and improved processing power via a 4nm chipset.
