Insta360 launches X6 flagship 8K 360-degree camera

Insta360 has launched the X6, its flagship 360-degree camera marking the company's 10th anniversary in the market. The device is designed as a ‘3-in-1’ tool, functioning as a professional 360 camera, a traditional action camera, and a vlog camera.

The X6 features dual Sony 1/1.1-inch square sensors, providing a 33 percent increase in sensor area compared to the previous X5 model. This upgrade allows for approximately four times more light intake per frame, improving performance in low-light and high-contrast environments. The camera supports native 8K video at up to 50fps, 10-bit color depth, and includes in-camera Dolby Vision support.

Hardware improvements include a triple AI chip system comprising an 8-core 3.3GHz 4nm processor and two dedicated imaging chips. This configuration reportedly offers 500 percent more computing power than the X5 while reducing power consumption by 35 percent. Additional features include a 2.32-inch OLED display with 1,200 nits brightness and an AdaptiveTone 2.0 system for expanded dynamic range.
