Insta360 to launch Luna Pro 8K gimbal camera

Insta360 has announced the upcoming launch of the Luna Pro, a single-lens 8K gimbal camera, scheduled for release in China on August 20. While an unboxing video has revealed the device features a 1-inch sensor and a Leica-branded camera module, the manufacturer has not yet disclosed the pricing or specific technical details regarding battery life and focal length.

The Luna Pro follows the release of the Luna Ultra, a dual-lens model featuring a partnership with Leica. The Luna Ultra includes a Leica Summicron lens with a 1-inch 8K sensor alongside a telephoto lens. Both models utilize a detachable touchscreen that functions as a remote control for monitoring and operating the gimbal, a feature designed to assist solo vloggers.

Insta360's new hardware enters a competitive market, directly challenging DJI's dominance in the handheld gimbal camera sector.
