Instagram introduces new profile customization and Reels tools

Instagram is introducing several new features designed to give users greater control over their profile aesthetics and content management. A major update allows users to add posts in which they have been tagged directly to their main profile grid. Previously, tagged content was restricted to a separate “Tagged” tab, but users can now select specific photos or videos to display on their primary feed without needing to repost the content or use collaborative posting tools.

In addition to grid customization, the platform is rolling out tools to reorganize existing photos and videos within the profile grid by dragging and dropping them into new positions. This allows users to highlight specific work or campaigns without deleting content.

For video creators, Instagram is launching a “First Draft” tool for Reels. This feature automatically selects video clips, removes pauses, and compiles highlights into an initial version to streamline the editing process. The platform is also enabling users to change the music on older posts, providing further flexibility in managing past content.
