Instagram launches Watch History feature for Reels

Instagram has introduced a new Watch History feature, allowing users to view and manage the Reels they have previously watched. The tool, confirmed by Instagram head Adam Mosseri in late October 2025, addresses a long-standing user request to recover lost content.

The feature is located within the ‘Your Activity’ section of the app settings. It presents viewed Reels in a grid format, allowing users to sort content by date or filter by the specific account that published the video. This update aligns with Meta’s broader strategy to prioritize short-form video and enhance user engagement through improved discovery and navigation.
