Instant Yakisoba Market Sees Double-Digit Growth

The market for instant bagged yakisoba is expanding significantly, with category sales seeing double-digit growth for three consecutive years from 2023 to 2025. Data from Intage SRI+ indicates that sales for the period of April to September this year rose by 25%.

Key drivers of this growth include successful promotions by established brands and the rising popularity of Korean-style noodles. Nissin Foods has seen success with its ‘Nissin Yakisoba’ through targeted marketing, while Samyang Japan’s ‘Buldak Stir-fried Noodles’ continues to gain momentum due to the ‘K-FOOD’ trend. Additionally, Myojo Foods has boosted sales with the release of its ‘Ippei-chan’ bagged yakisoba variety.

Analysts suggest that prolonged periods of heat may also contribute to the demand, as brothless noodles are perceived as easier to consume during hot weather.
