Institut des Sciences du Sport et du Développement Humain wins USSU-BF 2026 handball title in Burkina Faso

The Institut des Sciences du Sport et du Développement Humain (ISSDH) secured the men’s handball championship at the 2026 USSU‑BF university games, defeating the University Norbert‑Zongo (UNZ) of Koudougou 26‑21. The final took place on 25 July 2026 at the Lycée Ouézzin Coulibaly venue in Bobo‑Dioulasso. After an early 4‑0 lead by UNZ, ISSDH rallied with a strong defensive and offensive display, taking the advantage by the 10th minute and maintaining a four‑goal edge at halftime. The team held the lead in the second half to claim the title.

The victory marks ISSDH’s first handball championship at the national university competition, highlighting the growing strength of sports programs within Burkina Faso’s higher‑education institutions.
