Institut Le Rosey acquires $17M superyacht for marine science
Switzerland’s ultra-exclusive Institut Le Rosey, often referred to as the ‘School of Kings,’ has acquired a 94-foot solar-electric catamaran named Ipharra to serve as a floating classroom for marine science. The vessel, purchased for $17 million by the school’s former director Philippe Gudin at the Monaco Yacht Show, is designed to provide students with hands-on educational opportunities.
The custom-built yacht features six guest cabins for up to 10 students and is operated by a full-time staff of five. While annual tuition at the school is nearly $200,000, parents must pay an additional $20,000 for a two-week voyage. The luxury interior includes amenities such as oak flooring, panoramic glass windows, and bedrooms constructed with exotic Wenge wood.
