Institut Valencià de Cultura launches arts cycle for flood-affected regions

The Institut Valencià de Cultura (IVC) is launching ‘L’escena ens mou’, a performing arts cycle designed to bring cultural activities to 18 municipalities in the Valencian Community affected by the 2024 floods.

Running through December, the initiative will feature 32 performances including theatre, dance, and circus arts presented by 13 local companies. The program covers various regions, such as Horta Sud, Ribera Alta, and Ribera Baixa, with shows taking place in both indoor venues and public spaces.

In addition to performances, the project includes cultural mediation efforts to encourage citizen participation and strengthen the connection between artistic creation and the local territory. The repertoire includes works addressing contemporary issues such as environmental preservation, the impact of technology, and social power dynamics.
