Institute for Early Childhood Development and Inclusion opens in Belgrade

The Institute for Early Childhood Development and Inclusion has officially opened in Belgrade, Serbia, to provide comprehensive support for children with developmental risks and disabilities. Tamara Vučić, wife of the Serbian President, attended the opening ceremony alongside health and social affairs ministers.

According to Tamara Vučić, approximately 60,000 children in Serbia require developmental support. The institute aims to serve as a centralized hub where families can access diagnostics, counseling, and various therapies—including hydrotherapy, music therapy, and physical therapy—all under one roof to prevent delays in care.

The project, which originated as an idea in 2021 during the COVID-19 pandemic, is intended to become a leading regional center. Experts emphasize that the first five years of a child's life are critical, as they account for up to 70 percent of later developmental outcomes.
