Institutional Bitcoin Outflows Reach Record Levels in June 2026

BlackRock transferred 7,432 BTC (about $446 million) to Coinbase Prime on June 29, marking its largest single‑day net Bitcoin outflow on record. The move occurred while Bitcoin hovered near $60,380, showing little price impact.

Coinbase Institutional reported a transfer of 2,258 BTC (roughly $132 million) to a previously unused wallet on June 30, the third sizable outflow of the month. Combined with earlier June transfers of 3,968 BTC and 3,102 BTC, institutional withdrawals from Coinbase total roughly 9,328 BTC (about $578 million). Bitcoin traded in the $60,000‑$65,000 range during these events, and analysts suggest the outflows may reflect self‑custody moves, OTC trade preparations, or portfolio rebalancing.

The simultaneous large outflows and stable price suggest that market liquidity absorbed the supply, underscoring the significance of institutional flows in the crypto market.
