Institutional developments in Bijeljina and Sarajevo

In Bosnia and Herzegovina, two significant institutional developments have been announced. In Bijeljina, the Republic of Srpska Minister of Justice, Goran Selak, inaugurated a new correctional facility complex with a capacity of 250 places. The facility is intended to serve as a center for the education and training of prison staff throughout the Republic of Srpska and was built according to international and European standards.

In the Sarajevo Canton, the Prim. dr. Abdulah Nakaš General Hospital is launching the first specialized clinic in Bosnia and Herzegovina for clinical procedures in cases of rape. The clinic provides comprehensive medical care and support for survivors over the age of 18. It aims to facilitate multidisciplinary cooperation between medical professionals, forensic experts, social workers, and judicial and police authorities, in accordance with the Istanbul Convention.
