Institutional investors boost stakes in Thermo Fisher Scientific and Timken

Canoe Financial LP raised its holding in Thermo Fisher Scientific (NYSE:TMO) by about 9% in the first quarter, bringing its position to 160,995 shares valued at roughly $79 million. The filing noted that several other hedge funds and institutional investors also increased their stakes in the medical‑research company during recent quarters.

Corient Private Wealth LLC more than doubled its ownership of Timken Company (NYSE:TKR) in the fourth quarter, adding 9,534 shares to a total of 18,002 shares worth about $1.5 million. Additional investors such as Uncommon Cents Investing, Quadrant Capital Group, and Hilltop Holdings also expanded their holdings, while analysts upgraded Timken's rating and raised price targets in recent research reports.
