Institutional investors increase stakes in NVIDIA amid AI chip rally
During the first quarter, Palouse Capital Management Inc. added 7,842 shares of NVIDIA, bringing its holding to 8,646 shares valued at about $1.5 million. In the same period, Root Financial Partners LLC raised its position by 83,678 shares, holding 245,390 shares worth roughly $42.8 million. Both filings were disclosed in recent Form 13F reports to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
The two filings illustrate a broader trend of hedge funds and other institutional investors expanding exposure to NVIDIA, which now has about 65 % of its shares owned by such entities. Insiders continue to control a smaller portion, with roughly 4 % of shares held by company insiders. NVIDIA’s stock trades around $210 per share, giving the company a market capitalization near $5 trillion and reflecting strong investor confidence in its AI‑chip business after a robust earnings quarter.
These moves come as analysts note that institutional buying may signal expectations of continued growth in demand for NVIDIA’s AI hardware and related technologies.
