Institutional Investors Adjust Stakes in CME Group

Franklin Resources increased its CME Group holdings in the fourth quarter, buying 18,281 shares to hold 3,399,414 shares, about 0.94% of the firm and valued at roughly $928 million.

Capital World Investors reduced its position by 12%, selling 993,118 shares to end the quarter with 7,278,038 shares, representing about 2.02% of CME Group and valued at roughly $1.99 billion. Both filings note that other institutional investors also modified their CME stakes during the period, and analysts updated price targets and ratings for the exchange‑operator.

Insider sales were reported as well, with CEO Terrence A. Duffy and director Hilda Harris Piell each selling tens of thousands of shares in May.
