Institutional investors trim holdings in Toll Brothers and The TJX Companies

Shariaportfolio Inc. reduced its stake in homebuilder Toll Brothers Inc. by 32.7% in the first quarter, selling 8,683 shares and ending the period with 17,852 shares valued at about $2.44 million. The sale left Toll Brothers with roughly 91.8% of its stock owned by institutional investors and hedge funds.

Sapient Capital LLC cut its position in apparel retailer The TJX Companies, Inc. by 43.2% during the same quarter, disposing of 57,623 shares and retaining 75,882 shares worth roughly $12.12 million. The transaction contributed to institutional ownership of about 91.1% of TJX stock. In related disclosures, TJX’s chief financial officer and chairman also sold sizable share blocks, further reducing insider holdings.
