Instituto Almafuerte faces closure following judicial ruling

A judicial ruling by the Third Chamber of the Court of Appeals in Civil and Commercial Matters of Lomas de Zamora has placed the future of Instituto Almafuerte at risk. The court ordered the dissolution of the partnership that manages the school, located in 9 de Abril, Esteban Echeverría.

If the ruling is not overturned, the institution faces a potential closure by December 31, 2026, which would affect approximately 1,400 students across initial, primary, and secondary levels, as well as 130 staff members. The legal conflict stems from a decade-old case initiated by the heirs of Orlando A. Pintos, one of the original partners, seeking the liquidation of the partnership.

Legal representative Rodrigo Pintos stated that the school is currently unable to enroll students for the upcoming cycle, causing significant distress among families who are already seeking vacancies elsewhere. The educational community has organized protests to demand a resolution that protects the students' right to education.
