Instituto Balseiro Prize recognizes student Ángela Funes Moya

Ángela Funes Moya, a student from the Centro Educativo ‘Causay’ in San Luis, has been named one of 12 winners of the 25th edition of the ‘Instituto Balseiro Prize’. She was the sole representative from her province among the recipients.

The national competition for secondary school monographs received 597 entries from 307 educational institutions across Argentina. This year’s theme, ‘The voices of our scientific community’, required students to interview scientists and technologists to explore the relationship between science and scientific policy in Argentina.

The selection process involved an initial evaluation by 60 researchers from the Instituto Balseiro and the Bariloche Atomic Center, followed by a final review of 53 finalists by a committee of specialists. As part of the award, the winners will participate in an academic and scientific residency at the Institute in Bariloche from October 26 to 30.
