Costa Rica advances in medical research and English proficiency

Dr. Alexandra Rodríguez Morales, a Costa Rican specialist, has been selected to present two clinical research studies on sleep medicine at the XXIII World Congress of Otorhinolaryngology in Istanbul, Turkey. She is the only representative from Costa Rica, Central America, and the Spanish-speaking Latin American region chosen for the specialized sleep medicine sessions.

Separately, recent TOEIC Listening & Reading Tests 2025 results indicate that Costa Rica has achieved an average score of 763, placing it at a B1 intermediate level. This score surpasses several major economies, including Japan, South Korea, China, Brazil, and Mexico. Experts note that while the foundation for English learning is strong, increasing daily practical usage remains a key challenge for professional competitiveness.
