Instituto Cerrado Central brings Brazilian music to Campo Grande schools

The Instituto Cerrado Central has launched a new project titled “Entre o Rural e o Urbano: Música e Poesia nas Canções de Almir Sater e Chico Buarque” to bring Brazilian music to public schools in Campo Grande.

Targeting students within the Municipal Education Network (Reme), the initiative focuses on schools in rural areas and neighborhoods with high socioeconomic vulnerability. The program includes didactic concerts, educational activities, and a free spectacle designed to democratize access to culture and introduce students to different forms of Brazilian expression.

By using the works of Almir Sater and Chico Buarque as educational foundations, the project aims to teach students about the elements of music and poetry while fostering cultural formation. The project seeks to build new audiences by bringing musical performances directly into the school environment.
