Instituto dos Advogados do Distrito Federal marks 56th anniversary with CLDF ceremony

The Câmara Legislativa do Distrito Federal (CLDF) held a solemn session on Tuesday, April 4, to honor the 56th anniversary of the Instituto dos Advogados do Distrito Federal (IADF). The event was proposed by district deputy Jaqueline Silva (MDB) and presided over by deputy Thiago Manzoni (PL). IADF president Jaqueline Di Domenico highlighted the institute’s five‑decade history of collective work, while OAB/DF president Paulo Maurício Braz Siqueira praised its contribution to a strong legal profession and democracy.

Attendees included the Federal District Attorney General Diana de Almeida Ramos, Supreme Court of Justice minister Nilsoni de Freitas, former OAB/DF president Estefânia Ferreira de Souza Viveiros, and representatives of the National Federation of Lawyers' Institutes. The ceremony featured a video of the institute’s milestones and paid tribute to its founders and past leaders. Founded in 1970, the IADF’s mission is to promote legal science, defend the democratic state, and improve public legislation. A follow‑up celebration is scheduled for 18 August 2026, when the Medalha Pontes de Miranda will be awarded.
